First it was the Dalai Lama, last week the Queen popped over for a few days and yesterday Barack Obama and his First Lady, Michelle graced our shores. It was absolutely amazing to watch. He met our President Mary Mc Aleese, signed the visitors book, planted a tree in Áras an Uachtaráin, and took a swing of his new hurl with our Taoiseach Enda Kenny. Then he was flown to his ancestral village of Moneygall, "to find the lost apostrophe of his surname, O'Bama", where he met his long lost cousins and had a pint of Guinness in Hayes' pub. Barack and Michelle spent 45 minutes meeting and greeting the residents of Moneygall and they were just so relaxed, hugging and kissing people and babies as they went.

Later that evening after a concert in College Green in Dublin, President Obama gave an awesome speech in front of an estimated 100,00 people. He finished on an inspiring note.
"Ireland, if anyone ever says otherwise, if anybody ever tells you that your problems are too big, or your challenges are too great, that we can't do something, that we shouldn't even try - think about all that we've done together. Remember that whatever hardships the winter may bring, springtime is always just around the corner. And if they keep on arguing with you, just respond with a simple creed: Is féidir linn. Yes, we can. Yes, we can. Is féidir linn."
I believe him!
