Before this amazing find, I used to use Max Factor Glide and Define Liquid Eyeliner, which I'm pretty sure retailed at around €9.99 in chemists. At the time, I thought you couldn't get any better, no messy nail-polish-type-jar, a solid black colour and cute design. But then I started to notice the flaws : ( It faded on my eyelids, the pen tended to leak and dry up too quickly for my liking. Also the nib of the marker tended to bend and when applied over eyeshadow the pen tended to soak up the pigment. Boo to that!
So of course I rushed to Boots to get my mits on this new gel liner! It normally retails at €11.99 (but I was lucky to pick it up at the introductory price of €8.99). It's available in Blackest Black in Ireland (and the UK as far as I know) and Charcoal, Brown and Eggplant (a sweet purple) in the States, so hopefully they'll be our side of the pond soon! Here are the results:
One of the best things about this liner is the angled brush that comes with it. The right brush can often be impossible to find and this angled beauty makes it a lot easier to make a flick in the outer corner of the eye. The liner itself is a gorgeous deep black and a little goes a long way. When you take the pot out of its packaging, it may seem very small at 3g but only the smallest sweep of liner is needed for a defined look. Maybelline claim it's good for 24 hour wear but I haven't tried it for that length! I do know it's still consistent after a whole days wear though. It does not budge. I ♥ it.
